Post university; post graduation! I’m back and ready to blog.

So I’m going to keep this nice and sweet. Usually I’d break down exactly what I used and a little step by step written tutorial, however… a picture is worth a thousand words!

The B L U E look can be worn day/night (pop a darker colour lip on for the night version). My fave is teaming it with a nude lip, it looks so classy.

All the products that I used minus a MAC concealer (NC30), two YSL mascara’s (Volume Effet Faux and Curling) and a YSL eyeliner (which is THE best eyeliner I have ever used – waterproof and mega black), were drugstore products.

The stunning blue pigment I used is by Maybelline, as is the lip liner I am wearing, coated with a generous layers of two AVON lipsticks (one was a pinky colour and the other was gold).

If you’d like any details on products that I have used or how I achieved any part of the look, just drop me a comment and I’ll be thrilled to let you know!

Enjoy, tag me in any recreations and have a blessed day! X

It’s honesty been a while and rather than waffle on about how busy my work schedule has been at university I’ll just get straight to it. This is the Poison Ivy look I did on Halloween, and genuinely I had so much fun creating it. This would be perfect for a fancy dress party, Halloween 2015 or maybe even Comic Con 2015. Heck, you might just wanna recreate this look for fun, so I’ll put down the details below!

Face:

  • I primed with L’Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer (great primer, smooths away all the little bumps and pores nicely).
  • Applied L’Oréal lumi magique foundation in Gold Linen all over.
  • Contoured lightly on my cheekbones, nose and the sides of my forehead with L’Oreal true match foundation in deep cool, blended out using a blending brush.
  • I then contoured my nose and the hollows of my cheekbones (Also, dusted some on my collarbones) with the MAC quad eye shadow in Golden Mint Green and Dirty Olive Green.
  • I concealed under my eyes and a little above my lips using the Maybelline Super Stay concealer in Medium.
  • To highlight I used Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Medium. I used this on the bridge of my nose, above the hollows of my cheeks and under my eye for a brighter, more dramatic look.

Eyes:

  • I wore MesmerEyez coloured contacts in Amazon Green.
  • Primed my eye with the same concealer and dusted Freak all over my eyelid from the Urban Decay Electric palette.
  • From the same palette I mixed Thrash and Fringe for a deeper green colour and worked it in from the outer corner of my eyes. For a more blended look I also worked in the MAC golden mint green at the very edge giving it a slightly smokey look. I also lined my under eye with the same eye shadow.
  • Then I lined both my waterline and along my lash line with some black kohl and smudged it out.
  • For the lashes, my motto is more is more (as I have said previously). I wore some false lashes I found in a drugstore; my philosophy with falsies are try a lot of different styles out until you find ones you really suit. It’s a trial and error process and don’t forget to cut them down to fit YOUR eye size.
  •  I used the L’Oréal 4D mascara and I extreme by Essence to blend the lashes in with my own naturally.
  • My brows were lined with Rimmel dark brown eyebrow pencil.

Lips:

  • I lined my lips in Maybelline Colour Sensational Lip Liner in Red.
  • I then applied Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick all over my lips in Amethyst Shell.
  • To matte down the look and for the lip to stay on longer, I patted down using my finger Savage from the Electric palette.

Other little details…

I bought the wig from a fancy dress shop, although I think you could find the same one online (try Ebay). I bought a green dress and stuck on Costume Ivy onto the neckline and the bottom of the dress (which can also be found on Ebay!)

Sexy Red Lip

20141002_212157PicsArt_1413252547173 PicsArt_1413252638805

It’s been a while to say the least, a midst a whole load of 21st birthdays, a few weddings and moving back to uni I’ve hardly had time to breathe. Nonetheless I want to be more active with my blog because it’s something that I really enjoy doing, so hopefully I’ll be doing a post a week at minimum.

This was a fun, sexy look that I did, nothing too elaborate. Opting with a simple eye, light contour and red lips is very effective. I’ve read a lot where people say they don’t suit a red lip. Let me tell you – you’ve just not found the right shade! I feel as though the red lip is a right for a woman. It’s a statement and makes you feel sexy – something everyone should feel when they want to!

So here goes…

Face:

  • No primer this time. Just moisturiser. Which one you ask? The Nivea Light Moisturising Day Cream. (My skin is not dry nor oily – on most days, so I use this product because it works with my skin well.)
  • Applied L’Oréal lumi magique foundation in Gold Linen all over.
  • Contoured lightly on my cheekbones, nose and the sides of my forehead with L’Oreal true match foundation in deep cool, blended out using a blending brush. Also, because this shade is really dark compared to my face I don’t need to use a blusher.
  • I concealed under my eyes and a little above my lips using the Maybelline Super Stay concealer in Medium.

Eyes:

  • Primed my eye with the same concealer and dusted Tease all over my eyelid from the Naked 2 palette.
  • Then I lined both my waterline and along my lash line with some black kohl and smudged it out.
  • For the lashes, my motto is more is more. I used the L’Oréal 4D mascara, the Max Factor False lash effect, the Maybelline Volum’ express the falsies flared and my latest buy I ❤ extreme by Essence. I use them in that order and apply the next one as soon as I feel the last coating has partially dried.
  • My brows were lined with Rimmel dark brown eyebrow pencil.

Lips:

  • I lined my lips in Maybelline Colour Sensational Lip Liner in Red.
  • I then applied YSL Rouge Volupte shine all over my lips in Rose In Tension.

Sweet Purples

I’ve not posted in a while so I thought I’d do a quick post on this simple makeup look. I’ve been obsessed with purples lately and I think it compliments most skin tones. It’s very girly and romantic and a fun look to wear if you dony usually opt for more adventurous colours. It stands out without being too drastic nor too subtle, perfect for a date or a night out or any occasion really!

Subtle Smokey Eye

What I’ve learnt in the world of all things beauty is that you can never go wrong with a smokey eye. It’s one of the most versatile looks, it works for daytime as well as working for the evening.
I kept the look quite simple using a pinky maroon lip with it to keep it simple.
So here goes…

Dream Body!

image

The undeniably gorgeous body above belongs to Sarah Stage. Every time I look at this picture I’m left with an air of awe mixed with envy.
I mean wow?!
Recently I embarked on the journey to slim down. As a result of living out at university I’d collectively gained a stone over 2 years. I’d hear stories about people losing tons of weight whilst living away from home… but that wasn’t the case for me. As a result of a slow metabolism and an affinity to consume large amounts of food (without wanting to stop), the only way for me to maintain my weight/stay fit is to work out 5 times a week. Short Hair, No Care!

IMG_8448 1970586_10151912655326364_214284669_n

Recently, I embarked on an adventure every girl with long hair dreads. I cut my hair… short. I’m talking the drastic, change-who-you-are chop. And I’m not going to lie, I did regret it approximately 32 minutes after cutting it but that soon faded after realising the perks of life with short hair.

You can roll out of bed in the morning, tease it a little and you’re good to go. Not to mention the maintenance of healthy, shiny hair has become a lot easier.

My hair is quite fine so it is prone to getting greasy very quickly and it can appear rather weak and lifeless if I don’t give it the TLC it needs. (Nobody particularly wants that look.)

These two products are my saviours! They help me maintain healthy hair and on occasions give it a shine boost.

  • Dabur Vatika Almond Oil

– This is my go-to hair care product. Growing up as an Indian girl, oiling your hair a few times a week was practically a way of life. This habit has stayed with me and I oil my hair regularly (atleast twice a week). Almond oil contains a high concentration of proteins and vitamins A, B and E, which helps add shine to previously dull hair. The vitamins also help keep the hair strong and smooth.

  • TREsemme Keratin Deep Treatment Masque

– I recently discovered this treatment on a shopping trip for hair products, and we’ve all been a victim to false advertisement so I was skeptical at what it claimed to do. However because of the brand (Tresemme) reputation and the fact that I’d had good experiences with their products before, I decided to give it a try… and it actually worked wonders.

-The product is infused with Keratin which fights frizz and can be used on colour-treated hair (which is perfect for a dye-aholic like myself.) I personally use this once a week and leave it on for about 15 minutes (3x the recommended 5 minutes, but it works for me… natural born risk taker). It leaves my hair super soft and very sleek (after styling).

Both products can be bought at your local drugstore.

Bird Of Paradise Makeup

 028 (3)066 (2)

I’m so excited about my first post. I’ve been meaning to start a blog for a while now, but I’ve been so nervous wondering if I’ll get any views or if anyone will like the things I’ll post. Honestly, I just have the biggest passion for all things beauty and this started when I was just a little girl and I got my first makeup palette for my birthday. (Yes, it was the one shaped as a heart that pulled out to a million crazy eyeshadow colours.)

As you can see my love for bright colours has not faded over time. This look I did on Halloween where I was a bird of paradise (They’re so beautiful – Google them!)

Eyes:

  1. Prime the entire eye
  2. Using the Urban Decay Electric Palette in the colour Freak, I covered my eyelid.
  3. Next using Jilted from the same palette, I covered the next half of my eyelid. Being careful not to mix the colours. I did blend the colour with a blending brush so that the colours fade into each other – a natural blend.
  4. With the smallest eyeshadow brush, I lined on top of the Jilted layer with a mix of Fringe and Gonzo.
  5. I then added a dash of Revolt to the inner corners of my eyes to make it ‘pop’.
  • I lined my eyes with my fave liquid eyeliner – L’oreal Super Slim Liner.
  • Now for lashes, I love love love super dramatic eyelashes. I didn’t wear false eyelashes on this occasion so I layered up using various mascaras – Loreal Lash Architect 4d, Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, MaxFactor False Lash Effect.

Cheeks:

  • Using an angled blusher blush I used Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Peach Mosaic, all down my cheek bones for a very dramatic look.

Lips:

  • I lined my lips in Maybelline Colour Sensational Lip Liner in Red – this way the pink colour I put on top won’t get washed out and will stay vibrant.
  • I then applied Mac Lipstick in Flat Out Fabulous.
